Tips for Facebook Security

Here are some important tips to remain secure in Facebook

• Only Friend people you know.
• Create a good password and use it only for Facebook.
• Don't share your password.
• Change your password on a regular basis.
• Don't keep same password for your Social Media Account and your Email Account.
• Share your personal information only with people and companies that need it.
• Never post your Personal /Contact information on the social networking sites. 
• Log into Facebook only ONCE each session. If it looks like Facebook is asking you to log in a second time, skip the links and
• directly type www.facebook.com into your browser address bar.
• Use a one-time password when using someone else's computer.
• Log out of Facebook after using someone else's computer.
• Use secure browsing whenever possible.
• Only download Apps from sites you trust.
• Keep your anti-virus software updated.
• Keep your browser and other applications up to date.
• Don't paste script (code) in your browser address bar.
• DON'T Flirt / Make anonymous friends or share your pictures/webcam with them.
• Use browser add-ons like Web of Trust and Firefox's NoScript to keep your account from being hijacked.
• Beware of “goofy” posts from anyone even Friends. If it looks like something your Friend wouldn't post, don't click on it.
• Scammers might hack your Friends' accounts and send links from their accounts. Beware of enticing links coming from your Friends.
• Beware of SUCH POSTS ON YOUR FACEBOOK WALL.. These APPS are FAKE and MALICIOUS.. If Clicked will spam to all your friends.... they are kind of viruses... PROFILE STALKER.. WHO IS WATCHING YOUR PROFILE.. BE CAREFUL DON'T CLICK...

 

• Now a days Links and Events are popping up on the Facebook, saying that a new “Limited Edition” Facebook red theme is available. When a user visits the link, it downloads a malicious Browser Extension, which reportedly steals all your usernames and passwords of your current active sessions and gets access to your history.

• So, Dear Friends....BEWARE OF COLOR SCAM ON FACEBOOK.. DON'T CLICK ON THESE LINKS... CHECK YOUR BROWSER SETTINGS AND DELETE MALICIOUS EXTENSIONS ADDED TO YOUR BROWSER.. AND REPORT AS SPAM to SUCH LINKS THEY CAN STEAL YOUR PASSWORDS AND ACTIVE SESSIONS.

• Don't click on suspicious posts and Ads occurring on social media. A lots of SPAM Links , luring and tempting with FALSE Information can appear on your account. DON'T Click on them and immediately report it as SPAM.For Eg. GET YOUR MOBILE FREE RECHARGED…..,SEE WHO VISITED YOUR PROFILE….., YOU ARE TAGGED IN A VIDEO .. WATCH THE VIDEO…, ACCOUNT GETTING SLOW VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT WITH YOUR USER ID AND PASSWORD….etc…
